AAUA final year student stabbed to death over N1,000
An indigene of Akungba, Ondo State, stabbed to death a final year student of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba on Thursday, April 6, following a disagreement over N1,000 payment.
Temitayo, a final year student of the Department of Physics Electronics at the Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba, Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, was stabbed multiple times with scissors by an indigene over a N1,000 payment misunderstanding. The incident took place around Ebenco filling station, opposite Akua junction, Akungba on Thursday, April 6. He was immediately taken to Aduloju Hospital along Iwaro Road but sadly died from his injuries.
According to reports, Temitayo intervened in a financial dispute between two parties and acted as a guarantor for the one who owed money, promising to settle the debt. After paying N3,000 out of the N4,000 owed, he was unable to pay the remaining N1,000 balance, which resulted in an argument with the perpetrators.
The argument turned into a physical fight, leading to Temitayo being stabbed multiple times with a pair of scissors, ultimately resulting in his death. The incident occurred at Ebenco filling station, opposite Akua junction, Akungba.
This incident has sparked outrage among students and members of the university community, who have called on the authorities to ensure that the culprits are apprehended and made to face the full wrath of the law. The management of the university has also released a statement condemning the act and calling on the police to ensure that justice is served.
The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the incident and stated that investigation is ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
