NECO Launches Game-Changing ‘E-Verify’ Portal for Instant Online Result Confirmation

To streamline result verification and combat fraudulent practices related to examination results, the National Examination Council (NECO) has introduced the “NECO ‘e-Verify” platform. This innovative platform simplifies the process of verifying results and serves as a safeguard against the manipulation and falsification of examination results administered by NECO.

During the ceremony held in Abuja, Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, Dantani Wushishi, highlighted the challenges faced in the verification process. He mentioned that previously, all requests for result verification or confirmation had to be sent to the NECO headquarters in Minna, resulting in a lengthy processing time.

According to Mr. Wushishi, the newly introduced “NECO e-Verify” serves as an online solution for result verification. It ensures prompt authentication of academic and essential details of potential candidates seeking admission into educational institutions or employment in workplaces.

Recognizing the increasing demand for result verification by institutions both locally and internationally, NECO deemed it necessary to introduce the e-Verify platform at this opportune moment.

The commendable efforts of NECO and other examination bodies in Nigeria have been recognized, but there is a need for further progress in fully automating the examination administration process. Additionally, schools and institutions should embrace e-learning.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, David Adejoh, praised NECO for introducing the e-Verify platform, which aligns with the ministry’s strategic plan. The platform enables stakeholders to access and verify results from anywhere in the world, making the process faster and more convenient.

The acting Executive Secretary of the National University Commission (NUC), Chris Maiyaki, emphasized the importance of maintaining the platform’s integrity and security against potential hackers. The e-Verify portal incorporates two-step verification for added security, including registration and token payment.

The event attracted officials from various relevant sectors, reflecting the significance of this initiative.
