Ekiti State 2023 Scholarship/Bursary Scheme

In line with the Ekiti State Government’s dedication to promoting academic excellence and easing the financial challenges faced by outstanding students, the administration led by Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has introduced a scholarship program. This initiative aims to support eligible students who are currently enrolled in their second year and beyond in universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS IN NIGERIAN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS

PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

To be eligible for the Physically Challenged Scholarship Award, the applicant must be a recognized student currently enrolled in a Tertiary Institution.

NCE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The NCE Scholarship Award is specifically designed for students in their second year of the NCE/OND program. Candidates applying for this award must have achieved a minimum CGPA score of 3.5 in their previous examinations.

HEALTH TECHNOLOGY AND SCHOOL OF NURSING

For Health Technology and School of Nursing programs, CGPA scores do not apply to Health and Medical related courses.

HND SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

All applicants for the HND Scholarship Award must have attained a minimum CGPA of 3.5 in their previous examinations.

UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

Applicants for the Undergraduate Scholarship Awards must be in their second year of study or above. Additionally, they must have achieved a minimum CGPA score of 4.0 in their previous examination.

POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

Candidates applying for the Postgraduate Scholarship Awards should have obtained at least a Second Class Upper Division in their First Degree or an Upper Credit at HND Level.

PH.D. SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

For the Ph.D. Scholarship Award, applicants must possess a First-Degree Certificate with a minimum of Second Class (Upper Division) and a grade of Distinction in their Master’s Degree.

GUIDELINES ON APPLICATION

  • The Ekiti State Scholarship Board advertises the scholarship scheme through electronic and print media channels. To apply for the scholarship, each applicant must accurately complete the online application form and obtain a printout of the form. The printout must be verified by the applicant’s institution with an official stamp or seal clearly impressed on it.
  • It is important to note that any application form not obtained from the official Scholarship website for the 2023/2024 Scholarship award will be considered invalid.
  • The completed application form should prominently display the applicant’s current CGPA, which must be authenticated by the Head of Department. The Registrar will verify whether the applicant is a full-time or part-time student.
  • For bursary applications, the application form must be stamped and endorsed by the Chairman of the applicant’s Local Government Area.
  • All completed application forms must be submitted within the specified period mentioned in the advertisement.
  • Please note that the Board does not accept late submissions of application forms.
  • Students on Part-Time and Sandwich Courses are NOT qualified for the Scholarship Awards

SCREENING PROCEDURE

To ensure the prevention of fraud and impersonation, the screening procedure for the scholarship scheme includes the submission of certified copies of the following documents along with the application form:

  1. Current school fees payment receipts.
  2. Institution’s identification cards.
  3. Letter of identification from the Head of Department.
  4. Certified transcript issued by the Registrar of the Institution.
  5. Certified copies of academic credentials.
  6. Certificate of Local Government origin.
  7. Three years’ Tax Payment Certificate and Development Levy receipts of the applicant’s parent.

These documents serve as evidence and verification of the applicant’s identity, academic standing, and eligibility for the scholarship. By submitting these certified copies, the screening process aims to ensure the authenticity of the applicants and maintain the integrity of the scholarship scheme.
