For individuals in this category, it is not necessary to go through the entire registration process again. Instead, they have two options: revalidation or remobilization. Let’s understand the difference between these terms and who should consider each of them.
Who Needs the NYSC Revalidation?
Revalidation is specifically applicable to corps members who have previously registered online with a specific batch, were deployed in that batch, but did not report to the orientation camp. In such cases, these corps members are required to undergo a process called “revalidation” in order to participate in the camp with the subsequent batch. The purpose of revalidation is to update their status and enable them to join the NYSC program during the next scheduled batch.
Who Need Remobilization?
Remobilization is distinct from revalidation as it applies to corps members who were previously mobilized in a specific NYSC batch, successfully registered in the NYSC camp, but subsequently encountered circumstances such as decampment, expulsion, or voluntary abscondment from their service obligations. For these corps members, the process of remobilization becomes necessary. Remobilization allows them to rejoin the NYSC program and fulfill their service requirements in a subsequent batch after resolving the issues that led to their earlier discontinuation.
How to do the NYSC revalidation
- To begin with, it is crucial to ensure that your educational institution has accurately submitted your details, as this is a common cause for deferment.
- To initiate the revalidation process, visit the official NYSC website at https://portal.nysc.org.ng. On the website, locate and click on the “revalidation” option. This action will prompt you to log in to your personal dashboard using your registered email address and password. If you encounter any difficulties logging in, there is an option to reset your password.
- Once logged in, carefully complete and submit your revalidation application. After submission, it is important to print out your registration slip for future reference and documentation.
